We had the honour and great pleasure of providing a Whisky Tour for a group of discerning whisky connoisseurs from Sweden. The ‘girls with taste’ had a great time and are planning a return visit. It was great to have you travel with us – haste ye back!

 

Great Danes TourTen day Tour

Day 1

Following your late arrival at Prestwick airport you will make your way to the Erskine Bridge Hotel for your first night.


Day 2


After a traditional Scottish breakfast you head north to Oban via Loch Lomond. First stop before Oban will be at the Green Wellie Whisky shop at Tyndrum where you can purchased bottles of Scotland’s more famous malts. Next stop is the Oban Distillery for a guided tour around the distillery and sampling of some of its produce. A leisurely drive through some majestic landscapes and you will arrive at Fort William for an overnight stay at the Alexandra Hotel.


Day 3


First on the agenda is a visit to the Ben Nevis Distillery nestling at the foot of Ben Nevis. From there you will travel to Mallaig, renowned for its golden beaches, where you will board the ferry ‘over the sea to sky’. Before heading to Portree you will stop at the Sligachen Hotel for a bite to eat and to sample some of the extensive collection of malt whiskies the hotel is renowned for. The third night will be at the Bosville Hotel in Portree.


Day 4


The day will start with a VIP reception at the Talisker Distillery before leaving the ‘misty isle’ via the road bridge. No visit to Scotland is complete without stopping at Eilean Donan, the most photographed castle in Scotland. After a short visit to Eilean Donan the afternoon journey will continue south through one of the most atmospheric glens in Scotland. Also known as the Glen of the Weeping, Glencoe was the scene of the 1692 massacre of part of the MacDonald clan. The penultimate night in Scotland is spent at the Winnock Hotel in Drymen.


Day 5


A short drive from Drymen and you will arrive at the Glengoyne Distillery, on the outskirts of Glasgow, for another VIP reception. Before heading to the hotel you will have a city tour of Edinburgh. The last night is spent in the Best Western City Hotel.


Day 6


Departure day but there will be enough time for some last minute souvenir shopping in Princess Street in the morning and the Buchanan Gallery in Glasgow in the afternoon before travelling back to Prestwick airport.
